We live and work around the Jewellery Quarter, whist the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) represents the local businesses, the Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Forum (JQNF) represents the residents.
We face the challenge of huge development pressure and want to promote, with other organisations a neighbourhood plan to ensure that the benefits of the redevelopment can reach existing residents, existing businesses and existing groups. We also want to promote and maintain the local feel and heritage of the Jewellery quarter. Based on the Government’s 2011 Localism Act, we have created a neighbourhood forum and applied for designation to take forward neighbourhood planning in the Jewellery Quarter. To fit with the requirements of the Localism Act, we have a constitution and a map of the proposed boundary area.
