Volunteering in the JQ

As well as the JQNF and Canal & River Trust Adopt a Canal scheme (more details here), there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in your local community through the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust.

They are looking for volunteers to help with new and ongoing projects. If you are interested in the Jewellery Quarter and can spare a few hours, either regularly or on an ad hoc basis, please get in touch as they would love to hear from you.

Upcoming activities include the Jewellery Quarter Festival in July and Birmingham Heritage Week in September as well as opportunities to get involved in research. Volunteering is a fantastic way to learn new skills, make new friends, or simply try something different!

Example roles:

  • Events assistants
  • Researchers
  • Oral history interviewers
  • Photographers
  • Bloggers
  • Explainers

Many of these volunteering opportunities are linked to the Townscape Heritage programme.

Please email volunteering@jqdt.org for more information about current and upcoming volunteer opportunities.
