The Labour Party in Birmingham is electing a new leader, following the resignation of Sir Albert Bore.

Five candidates have declared their intention to stand for the post.

This is of course an internal Labour party vote, but the result affects the whole city, its businesses and its citizens.

@NewsinBrum has organised a hustings at Impact Hub Birmingham on Monday 16 November. The interest in the event has been significant so extra space has been made. If you can’t get to the event it will be live blogged by BCU Media Students and hosted on a number of hyperlocal sites in Birmingham, including this site. The Hustings opens at 1830 for a 1900 start.

Councillors of all parties, MPs, media, online bloggers and the public will be attending the event.

Follow the debate on twitter #brumleader and read the live blog.
