JQNF Open Meeting: Mon 13th Oct 7 – 9pm

There are a lot of exciting projects in development in the Quarter at the moment. To keep you up-to-speed, we’ve teamed up with Birmingham Conversation Trust to present a bumper JQNF Open Meeting on Mon 13th Oct 7 – 9pm (doors from 6.50pm) at The Coffin Works, Fleet Street, Jewellery Quarter.

You’ll get a sneak-peak of the refurbished Coffin Works – which doesn’t open to the public until 28th October – with presentations and conversations about the different topics taking place across the building.

The Standard Works
The Ruskin Mill Trust are restoring one the the JQ’s most beautiful buildings – which has been empty for over two decades. The site will host a specialist education college for 16 – 25 year olds. Representatives of Ruskin Mill Trust will talk through their plans for the building, and how it will benefit the quarter.

Townscape Heritage
The Jewellery Quarter Development Trust has been awarded Stage One funding to develop proposals that will help a number of the JQs disused listed buildings come back into use.   We’ll tell you more about the project, and also find out how you think the project can help bring the public into the Quarter and learn about the ‘industrial middle’.

Warstone Lane and Key Hill Cemeteries
Birmingham Conversation Trust (BCT) have been working on a Heritage Lottery Funding bid to help restore the Cemeteries in the Quarter, and re-imagine how the local community can embrace these spaces. BCT will give an update on the progress of the project.

Please arrive for 7pm sharp (entry from 6.50pm). Refreshments will be available in the Courtyard, where we will begin the meeting before splitting into groups. Groups will attend each session in turn.

We have had to limit the capacity for the event, so please do book in advance: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/jewellery-quarter-neighbourhood-forum-open-meeting-tickets-13264060161
