It’s been a while but attached are the latest applications for the Quarter for your delectation! It’s been a quieter period but the takeaway on George St is back…
To view the applications click on the document link above, and then use the blue links to go the the city council’s website.
29 Warstone Lane – conversion to live/work units (resubmission of a previous application to residential upper floors)
Newhall Court – flood alleviation kiosk.
41 George St – division of shop into takeaway and off licence (resubmission following refusal). Not sure why this is back because it was flatly refused last time.
Staycity Apart Hotel, Charlotte St – internally illuminated signage – a contentious one due to the Jewellery Quarter Design Guide forbidding it.
Some decisions from previous key applications:
Caspar House, Charlotte St – extra storey – APPROVE. This is disappointing as the height breaches guidelines and will cause a lot of disruption for residents there. However revisions to the design have been made which are an improvement.
Victory House, Ludgate Hill – extra storey and change to residential – REFUSE. This is welcome as residential here may jeopardise the Actress & Bishop, Sterlings and the Jam House due to noise.
41 Warstone Lane – change to estate agents – APPROVE.
