As some of you may be aware we have been doing some preliminary work around a family housing and self-build design project in the Jewellery Quarter as part of a Design Your Neighbourhood programme after JQNF won funding from Design Council / CABE.
Our design partner MADE have teamed up a group of MADEGrads with support from the School of Architecture at BCU to develop proposals for both affordable and self build homes in the Quarter.
You can see the proposals and the thinking behind them on a special website called ‘Stickyworld’. This allows you to leave comments on particular aspects of the ideas.
There will be a public exhibition of the initial designs at MADE 21-25th January to which you are all welcome. There will be JQNF committee members present at a special open forum on the 21st between 5pm and 7pm. You’ll have the chance to ask questions about this and any other aspect of the JQNF’s work in providing a voice for residents in the JQ. Feedback following the exhibition and also that from the ‘Stickyworld’ site will be incorporated into the proposals and shown in a final exhibition in March.
