Local JQ artist Steve Blundell has been in touch asking us to tell you about his 2013 calendar, with 12 pencil sketches of Birmingham. Interestingly each pencil drawing is accompanied by the weather and light conditions at the time the picture was drawn. The calendar could make a good Christmas present for people who appreciate local views and who haven’t completely succumbed to smartphone calendars etc. There’s two other pieces of good news about this: the calendars are only £10 each and £1 goes to the charity, Victim Support.
Steve’s website describes him as:
Living and working in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter my paintings, drawings and collages have been exhibited in UK, Europe and India; works are in collections in Malta, Philadelphia, Mumbai, Corfu, Denmark, Brussels, Tuscany as well as in the UK.
I was the subject of a ‘First Person’ article in the Financial Times Weekend Supplement and a past winner of the ICI painting prize.
